ANNOUNCEMENTS (Troop Events Spreadsheet last updated: 7/6)

7/26    Red & White Picnic: All Troop 297 scouts/families and Webelos scouts/families/friends are invited to our end-of-the year extravaganza.  This is a great opportunity for Webelos Scouts and boys interested in scouting to meet our troop and to get a taste of boy scouting.  We will be picnicking at Busse Woods from 11 am to 6 pm.  The picnic is an “open house” - come whenever you can and stay as long as you want.  Come make new friends, enjoy the outdoors, and have fun!

For more information, go to EVENTS.

7/27    Danny's Eagle Project: Have you ever heard of a bioswale?  Do you know how it works?  You can find out by building one at Vogelei Park in Hoffman Estates.  This project counts for service hours, is good for the environment, and helps a fellow scout earn his Eagle rank.  Everyone is welcome - the more the better!  Go to EVENTS to check out the flyer for more information about the bioswale, the dates and times, and directions to the park.

8/1-3    EAA Experimental Flights campout in Oshkosh, Wisconsin (Jeff Camiliere): There will be a signup sheet for this campout at the July 22 and July 29 meetings.  The trailer will be loaded at the July 29 meeting (remember this meeting will be at Vogelei Park - the trailer will be in the parking lot).  Go to EVENTS for more information.

8/16    Car Wash (Patty Ochs): We will be holding a car wash at the Hoffman Estates Police Station located on Gannon Drive from 10 am - 2 pm (click here for the flyer). The cost of the car wash will be however much people would like to donate.  We will also have first-aid kits to sell for $8.00.  For those of you coming to help, you need to wear your Class B uniform.  We need some items for the car wash, so please look around your house to see if you could donate or share: buckets (make sure your name is on them), sponges and rags for washing, chamois, and lots and lots of towels.
